Tennis Club Kordin's Story
Where we came from...
Tennis Club Kordin origins trace back to 1979 when the Kordin naval prison yard and two adjoining halls were passed over to the newly formed Paola Tennis Club. The yard was then asphalted and four tennis courts were constructed.
A new committee and president were elected in 1989 and together they set out on the arduous task of improving the club infrastructure. The four courts were resurfaced and new flood light systems were installed. Further improvements included new surrounding nets, full refurbishment of the hall-restaurant including a large bar and recreational area, and new shower and changing rooms. A large stand was also constructed on top of this area. The entire premises was then given a facelift by landscaping the surrounding areas to complement the game of tennis.
The fully refurbished premises were officially opened in the year 2000.

Honouring the Memory of Benedict Vidal 🕊️✝️
1937 - 2023
An avid tennis player and tennis coach for over forty years, Benny, as most of us knew him, went on to become one of Malta’s leading tennis tournament organisers. He became an expert at the organisation of tournaments that were sanctioned by both Tennis Europe and the International Tennis Federation. Through his efforts, our little club became one of the pillars of local tennis whereby every event was organised. Benny was also instrumental in introducing new management systems, namely the online booking system and energy efficient systems. His efforts guided Tennis Club Kordin to top level status.
From the bottom of our hearts, we are grateful for all the work and teachings you bestowed upon us. Until we meet again.
